We loved this old heritage property in a 300 year old city. Felt nostalgic as we had similar properties in our village which sadly been demolished and modern ones in their place! I love how this property has been refurbished and modern amenities added in for guests, with government funding. Beautiful halls inside which are being used for functions etc…when guests are not staying. We had a comfortable triple room, the single beds were little small for a bigger person but we were ok. It is noisy during the day if you open the windows but thats part of the experience. There were fans and AC in the room. However it was ideally suited to explore the old city. I spent half day walking around the city and saw so many temples and beautiful old heritage places. The manager was very helpful and the staff were friendly and thoughtful. We loved our Gujarati breakfast. The haveli does not provide other meals but you can order food online and they will provide dishes and cutlery. There is night market for street foods nearby. Just be careful with your belongings. The staff are happy to make tea/coffee when you want.

Hotel seemed surprisingly empty (not many spaces in hotel actually being used), but it has so many amazing architectural details to explore. Be sure to ask to see the well under the hotel. The hotel does require 15 minutes of unpleasant walking from where a car could drop one off. Would recommend leaving the car for a rickshaw that could reach hotel or at least get much closer. Breakfast in the courtyard was very pleasant, but the hotel freely admitted there was no good options for dinner within walking distance. Only street food that we didn't want to risk. Apparently sometimes the restaurant is open at the sister-property haveli across street and is supposed to be good. But as it was closed, we simply took a rickshaw to the sister hotel, House of MG. Food there is a good. We found that when coming back from House of MG to this hotel, our rickshaw struggled to find a route he could drive to our hotel and we had to walk through narrow alleyways in the dark avoiding motorcycles and strong-willed cow. But none of this should dissuade you from staying in a great property.

The history of the property is fascinating and how amazing the restoration has been. Its situated in the old area of Ahmedadad and there are options to join a historical tour (would recommend this so you get a feel of the surroundings) The decor is truly wonderful, the architecture and furnishings are stunning, you can feel the sense of history and will feel at peace staying here. The stairs are leading up to the property and also inside can be steep but the staff are willing and capable of carrying heavy cases (especially mine) and despite the noise from the traffic, once the doors are closed, it's very quiet. The hotel doesnt have a restaurant and breakfast is cooked to order which was tasty. All staff are friendly and attentive. Overall I felt extremely safe on my own and would highly recommend anyone to stay! p.s it's the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in! Thank you for looking after me!

We stayed at Deewanji Ni Haveli 16-18 Dec 2023 (booking.com) It is located in the ‘Old City’ which means the roads are very narrow and can’t be accessed by car, which can be an issue if you have a lot of luggage. The property itself is extremely beautiful and well kept! Before you leave ask to see an interesting feature in the basement. The room was clean and spacious, they provide toilet paper but remember to place used toilet paper into the bin next to the toilet. We appreciated the shower cubicle as this is not common in India. The staff are helpful so be sure to ask them if you need any help. During the night we experienced lots of noise which is more a location issue than the actual accommodation issue. The breakfast was delicious. Be sure to go out and explore the Old City as many places are within walking distance.

In a word EVERYTHING! This beautiful 300 year old Haveli is easily the most impressive place we have stayed in during our many trips to India. Mukesh & his FABULOUS team of Devising, Mohan Lal & Dattu looked after us like Royalty & the regality of this building also adds to that feeling. We were truly bowled over by the warmth of their hospitality, the great coffee & fantastic breakfast. I hate gushing but everything was just so perfect! Mukesh is extremely professional & accommodating & helped us with trips out to Patan & Modhera for the ancient steps & the Sun Temple. He also can arrange a heritage walking tour of the old city. None of these things will break the bank. The only sadness was having to leave the place .. we SHALL be back ❤️
